(H/T) AfroSpear

Why post this?

I guess because in a way we are all racists … the only difference is the degree of our racism and whether we acknowledge its existence.  Once acknowledged we then have to choose whether to allow the darker side of our personalities to take hold.

Listening to the hate filled rant of the Black Panthers, yesterday brought this to the forefront, yet again!  This guy hates crackers and has no problem killing white babies!

All of which brings me to I’m a Racist by Anna Renee over at AfroSpear.

I found AfroSpear about a year ago and linked the site under the category of  Voices Ignored by the MSM.  My refusal to use the “B” word should be self-evident.

I go to these sites to hear information that is unfiltered and/or sanitized … I go to these sites because there is some very fine writing that deserves attention.

Of particular note is Afrocity.  Afrocity is a wonderfully talented writer;  her posts are thought provoking and elegantly written. Rarely does she disappoint!

Take the time to investigate as many of the voices ignored by the MSM as you can.  The insights and perspectives found are well worth the time.  You will also find that there isn’t a monolithic form of thinking in any community.  But you knew that already, didn’t you?

Whether I agree with all of the opinions expressed on these blogs is quite immaterial, which is as it should be.

Despite the narrative of the MSM, not everyone loves Jesse Jackson or the Rev Al.  Abortion is a very hot topic and not everyone is in love with or swoons over the Anointed One.

Here is part of Anna Renee’s post:

I suppose that’s the best way to describe what I’m feeling at this particular time.

So what am I talking about? Well first let me introduce you to Oakland California, USA, the city that I have lived in for the past 27 years. Oakland, the city known for the “Epic Beard Man” that old white guy who beat the crap out of a young black man on the bus.

Oakland, the city known for the Oakland Riders, not RAIDERS, but RIDERS, a group of rogue cops that brutalized suspected drug dealers and covered up their actions. Oakland, the city known for the Ebonics firestorm when its school board passed a resolution to recognize the legitimacy of “Ebonics” or African American vernacular english (AAVE). Ah, my city of Oakland. The home of the brutal Oscar Grant murder and subsequent trial going on–moved to Los Angeles because of fear of Oakland youth uprisings.

So when I’m standing in my door and I see our new neighbors moving into our complex, I notice something about myself. I’m not so very happy about their moving in. They are a young couple–probably about my son’s age–mid 20′s. They are cute in the way that white kids are cute. The guy is wearing those funny two-strap sandals that only white men wear. The girl is wearing a shirt that exposes the small of her back the way white girls always do. It seems that their shirts are never long enough to cover their entire backs!
The guy is wearing those shorts with many pockets, those cargo shorts. His ugly fuzzy legs are showing and, well anyway. Yuck!
