Didn't see this on CNN or MSNBC did ya?

I recently happened across the work of El Marco.  I wish I could tell you more about this photojournalist, but I cannot. It seems his photos are easy to find on the Internet, but information about him/her (?) is almost non-existent.   No matter the work speaks for itself.

I’ve chosen these photos from his website because he’s covering stories in a way no one else in the MSM is and at the same time is giving us a richness and fullness of story that is unequaled … and sadly missing.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words and it is. We don’t need opinions from talking heads on CNN and MSNBC  to tell us what we can see with our own eyes.
MAD MONEY

This got me thinking about Life Magazine and how much that weekly is missed, how badly a publication of this nature is needed given the sorry state of affairs in journalism in the MSM today.

Life Magazine was required reading every week from its launch by Henry Luce in 1936 into the 70’s. The original format  of the magazine was a gigantic 11′ by 14′ of slick photographs and insightful writing.

When it changed from a weekly to a monthly magazine, it was never the same.  People Magazine was supposed to replace it. People is OK, but let’s be honest,  it is little more than popcorn for the mind.

The combination of photographs and text in Life lent real depth to the subjects being explored and covered.   There remain thousands of photographs from Life Magazine that tell stories in a way no 10,000 word essay could ever approach.  The grittiness and emotion all are there, indelible on the psyche and heart.

Which leads me to this week’s covers of Time and Newsweek, or as I have recently begun to call them … Time Ragazine and Newsreek.

On September 12, 2009 upwards of 2 million people came to Washington to protest the policies of Congress and the Obama administration.   It should have been the dominant story of the week for multiple of reasons.  What did we get from these magazines? Time Magazine gave us Glenn Beck on its cover and Newsweek wants us to believe white babies are born racists.  And they wonder why circulation is plummeting!

All of which leads me back to El Marco.  We’ve come full circle.  Go to the El Marco website and take a look at the photos and the information about each shot.  No, this isn’t Life Magazine, but the work is filling in where almost all of  the MSM has abandoned us.

Think doctors are in favor of Obamacare?  What does this picture tell you?  What do all the photos in the series tell you? This isn’t the propaganda of the left and MSNBC is it?

DOCTORS AGAINST OBAMACARE

While I’m at it, think that other than Michael Steele, there aren’t any other black moderates, independents, or conservatives in the country?  Think everyone in the black community marches in lock step with the radical progressives and Team Obama? Think again.

VOICES RARELY HEARD

Every time the MSM ignores to report all the pertinent facets of major news stories they cheat us and ironically they cheat themselves. They become more and more irrelevant with each fabricated or loosely constructed story.

We the People want the news.  We are grown-ups capable of sorting fact from fiction.   If you in the MSM can’t do your job, we will continue building new networks and resources capable of filling in every area you abdicated, capable of filling in the voids absent because of your inability to put country before partisan politics.
