Last night Fox News and Greta Van Susteren reported Jan Brewer, Governor of Arizona vetoed the states Birther Bill saying:

“I do not support designating one person [i.e. the secretary of state] as the gatekeeper to the ballot for a candidate, which could lead to arbitrary or politically motivated decisions,” said Brewer, who was secretary of state until she became governor in 2009.

“In addition, I never imagined being presented with a bill that could require candidates for president of the greatest and most powerful nation on Earth to submit their ‘early baptismal circumcision certificates’ among other records to the Arizona secretary of state,” she said. “This is a bridge too far.”

I, applaud her decision, but not for the reasons she mentioned. For starters it is the job of many Secretaries of State to verify that candidates placed on their states ballots do meet the Natural Born Citizen clause of the Constitution. We found out in the last election that they don’t. They go through the motions and rubber stamp the candidates.

Want proof?

Why did Roger Calero’s name (carries a green card, not even a naturalized citizen) appear on the presidential ballot in Delaware, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York and Vermont? Hmmm.

One of the original lawsuits, filed in 2008, to prevent Obama from running for POTUS Donofrio v Wells stated the New Jersey Secretary of State failed to do her job as required by law when she allowed Obama, McCain, and Calero to run as presidential candidates. Attorney Leo Donofrio’s lawsuit essentially said, none of these men meet the standard of natural born citizenship.

Let me point out again, there are three elements needed for natural born citizenship to be perfected.   A person must be born on U.S.soil and BOTH parents must be U.S. citizens at the time of the birth.  Absent one of these elements and a person is not a natural born citizen.

Every time someone mentions Obama’s birth certificate without also mentioning his ADMITTED TO Kenyan/British citizenship they are aiding (unintentionally) Team Obama.

This is written for the OBOTS out there, whether your Chosen One was born in Hawaii or Kenya is immaterial.  His British father automatically disqualified Obama from running for POTUS. BTW, Obama’s mother was too young ( 17 or 18 years of age depending upon which story is correct) to confer her citizenship to her son.

The Arizona law focused on birth certificates and did not address the provability of the citizenship of both a candidate’s father and mother.  For that reason, Jan Brewer made the right decision vetoing the Arizona “Birther” bill.

BTW, if you don’t think this issue is going to become a significant part of future elections, think again. Progressives and a long list of Republicans and Democrats alike have hated the Natural Born Citizen clause, looking for ways to side step it without a Constitutional Amendment.

Why else to you think Rove, O’Reilly, constitutional lawyer and talk show host Mark Levin, Matthews, Cooper, and a list of names as long as my arm continue to pimp the Obama is a citizen (notice they NEVER say natural born citizen) story?

They all share one thing in common. They hate the Natural Born Citizen clause and are using Obama…set a precedent and Voilà and the hated NBC clause is resolved!
