CARDINALS 51 GREEN BAY 45 … HEY REF, WHERE’S THE FACE MASK CALL?

Normally I don’t write about sports, the NFL in particular.  That’s because my business is sports marketing.  My company has merchandised “hot market” properties, including the Super Bowl for many years.  I made a decision a long time ago not to become emotionally involved with any NFL team, because my heart had been broken too many times.  Last night’s game is a reminder of why I decided to disengage.

I watched the Green Bay/Cardinals game last night and thought at the end, “man what a lousy way for Green Bay to lose!”   I missed the final play because I switched channels for moment and came back to see the replay of the touchdown.  I saw all I needed to see, Green Bay lost in a heart breaker.  What a way to lose a big game, right?

Then this morning I got up and much to my surprise I find that Green Bay didn’t lose in heart breaker, they were robbed!  The refs “missed” one of the most blatant face mask calls I’ve ever seen.

When Adams  sacked Rodgers he held on to his face mask and twisted forcefully … disgusting!  There should have been a 15 yard penalty against the Cardinals.  The way Rogers was throwing last night there was a very good chance of the Pack going down the field for a Field goal or a touchdown.

Here’s the section of the rulebook that applies to roughing the passer in this situation (12-2-13, p. 85):

In covering the passer position, Referees will be particularly alert to fouls in which defenders impermissibly use the helmet and/or facemask to hit the passer, or use hands, arms, or other parts of the body to hit the passer in the head, neck, or face (see also the other unnecessary-roughness rules covering these subjects). A defensive player must not use his facemask or other part of his helmet against a passer who is in a virtually defenseless posture — for example, (a) forcibly hitting the passer’s head, neck, or face with the helmet or facemask, regardless of whether the defensive player also uses his arms to tackle the passer by encircling or grasping him, or (b) lowering the head and violently or unnecessarily making forcible contact with the “hairline” or forehead part of the helmet against any part of the passer’s body. This rule does not prohibit incidental contact by the mask or non-crown parts of the helmet in the course of a conventional tackle on a passer.

BYPASSING TEAM OBAMA & CHICAGO FOR 2016 OLYMPICS … THE IOC GOT IT RIGHT

Here’s the problem with all things presumed to be preordained … they rarely happen.  I guess someone forgot to tell the IOC that the 2016 Olympic Games were to go to Chicago.  After all,  The One did take time out of his busy schedule to grace the members of the governing body AND to read a speech to them from his teleprompter (!) extolling his virtues (natch) and apologizing for America once again (but, of course).

The governing body of the IOC was so impressed with the Obamas that they eliminated Chicago after the first round of votes.  So much for that!

The city of Chicago, having obtained the least number of votes, will not participate in the next round.

As reported by Judi McLeod in Canada Free Press

– Thousands of people stood in bewildered silence in downtown Chicago on Friday after the International Olympic Committee surprised everyone by dumping the city from the race for  in the first round of voting.

The vote in Copenhagen was carried on huge television screens set up in the Daley Center to carry what many had hoped would be approval of Chicago as host. It had seemed so likely to many in a city still basking in the blow of hometown Sen. Barack Obama’s election as president.

Instead, Chicago was bounced in the first round, bringing an audible gasp from the crowd. The elimination came so quickly that some would-be revelers weren’t sure what had happened and they asked bystanders if they had heard what they thought they heard.

Cheer up Chicago.  Here’s something I know that you don’t.  You’ve just missed a bullet, a very big bullet.

I’ve been in sports marketing for a very long time having designed and executed retail merchandising programs for the Olympics, Super Bowl, World Cup Soccer, America’s Cup.  My companies were part of the 1984 Summer Games in Los Angeles, the ones almost ruined by Obama’s lame brained predecessor, Jimmy Carter.

People have forgotten that it was the 1979  Soviet intervention/invasion of Afghanistan that spurred Jimmy Carter to issue an ultimatum.  The United States would boycott the 1980 Olympics if Soviet troops did not withdraw from the country by 12:01 A.M.  The Soviets didn’t leave.

The consequences were that 1984 Olympics were boycotted by the Soviets (now Russia) in retaliation for the U.S. boycott of the 1980 Olympic Games.  East Germany, Cuba, and fourteen other countries boycotted the Games. The loses to the Olympic athletes and to numerous companies impacted by politics were immense.

When I compare the execution of 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta with the execution of the 1984 Games in Los Angeles there is little comparison.  The Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee (LAOOC)  was headed by the amazing Peter Ueberroth who gave a  $150 million dollar surplus to the taxpayers in California once the Games were over. The 1984 Games were executed with style and sophistication.  No street vending was allowed in Southern California to clutter up and take away from the merchandising and message of the Games.

Fast forward to Atlanta, Mayor Campbell and his cronies, and the 1996 Olympics.  By the time the Games began, the City of Atlanta looked like a giant flea market with carts, vending tents, and temporary signs everywhere.  If there was an inch of space that could be sold it was put out there and people with absolutely no experience bought into the dream and lost big time.  Sports and event marketing, you see, is not for the faint of heart or for novices with visions of dollar signs dancing in their heads.

When the 1996 Games came to an end, the IOC’s past President, Juan Antonio Samaranch declared Atlanta’s efforts exceptional, not the usual best ever because they weren’t.

So Chicago, let me say again, you dodged a bullet.  Your feelings may be a little bruised right now, but that is definitely better than Montreal which wound up $1 billion in the red, after the 1976 Games or Moscow, which required $9 billion to stage the 1980 Games.  Your image is intact.  Now you can focus on the real problems in your city.

Sorry to say, I believe the IOC could hear the sound of “cha-ching” echoing softly in the background when the Obamas’ talked … I think they heard and witnessed people more focused on self-aggrandizement than the Olympic movement and what the ideal (not always realized) represents.  How gauche!

REVOLVER

In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

George Orwell.

besides…

Herman Cain can become the Peoples President. Unlike Obama, Cain’s grassroots support is real not manufactured.

THE PEOPLES PRESIDENT 2012

Herman Cain crushed the so-called first tier candidates Mitt Romney (aka mittens) and Rick Perry in yesterday’s Florida straw poll. Cain’s win is important enough to bring international interest, with the International Business Times calling it a new race.

Surprise, surprise. surprise, (not!) the Sunday talk shows are chattering about Cain defeating Romney and Perry in the Florida straw poll.

What is left unsaid is that the real surprise to them is that the voters are not following the MSM & GOP elites narrative on who is likely to run against the fraud Obama.

Their narrative has no room for Herman Cain and so they barely/rarely cover him. Why bring attention to a man who can really turn this country around, right? And so they speak his name in whispers or not at all! All of that changed yesterday.

One of the lessons to be learned in the 2012 election is name recognition isn’t everything. It’s the message that counts! Simply put so even a Progressive “journalist” can understand, the truth will out!

What the GOP elites and the MSM fail to realize, is that they have made themselves increasingly irrelevant to the voters of America. They are as tone deaf to the voters as Obama is to capitalism.

A Cain victory over Obama is payback by the Birthers and independents for the GOP’s failure to tell the truth about Obama’s ineligibility. It is payback for knowingly leading the nation astray. Obama’s a fake and everyone knows it, with the possible exception of the most rabid Obots.

Even worse than Obama’s fraudulent presidency (Born a Brit, not Legit) has been his clear inability to perform the tasks at hand. BHO likes the pomp and circumstance. but the work needed to truly be the POTUS. God, he is such a waste, such an empty suit!

Unlike Romney (picked by Rove) and Perry (said to be NWO), Cain is not a  bought man, and that boys ‘n girls is like a breath of fresh air.  Unlike Obama, Cain thankfully is not a Progressive!

Over at American Thinker the question was posed, “Is the Cain win an anyone but Romney vote?”  I think not. Cain is the real deal, and he’s Obama’s worst nightmare!

OBAMA BORN A BRIT NOT LEGIT
Let's be clear. The eligibility requirement for POTUS is natural born citizen, not naturalized citizen, not native born citizen, not citizen of the United States.
Each type of citizenship has a legal definition and is very specific despite the attempts by Team Obama, the co-conspirators in the judiciary, Congress, and the MSM to conflate the terms and bastardize the Presidency.
