Is there ANYONE who can seriously say they are surprised by this? Thought not!

The New Ledger is reporting that one only need look at page 158 to find the exemption:

(D) MEMBERS OF CONGRESS IN THE EXCHANGE-

(i) REQUIREMENT- Notwithstanding any other provision of law, after the effective date of this subtitle, the only health plans that the Federal Government may make available to Members of Congress and congressional staff with respect to their service as a Member of Congress or congressional staff shall be health plans that are–

(I) created under this Act (or an amendment made by this Act); or

(II) offered through an Exchange established under this Act (or an amendment made by this Act).

But as with a lot of legislative matters, the devil is in the details — or in this case, the definitions. (emphasis mine) As anyone who’s worked on Capitol Hill knows, the personal office staff for a member is governed by different rules than those who work on committees and in the leadership offices.

It appears from the way this language is written that those staffers NOT in personal offices, such as those working and paid under the committee structure (such as those working for Chairman Henry Waxman) or those working on leadership staff (such as those working for Speaker Nancy Pelosi) would be exempt from these requirements.

According to the Congressional Research Service, this definition of staff will only apply to those staffers employed within a member’s “personal office” — meaning that it will absolutely not apply to committee staff members, and may not apply to leadership staff.

I never really cared for Ronald Reagan that much, having believed the propaganda from the left and the MSM, that he wasn’t terribly bright … I was wrong! I confess to thinking he was just a nice man who could tell a good joke … after all he had impeccable timing having been an actor, don’t you know!

I always thought that the term liberal main stream media, was a fabrication of all those nasty Republicans and conservatives … I was wrong. Watching the Constitutionally ineligible Obama get elected in 2008 watching and the tactics (truth squads, voter intimidation) used by Team Obama (and the MSM) to obstruct the will of the voters (18 millions voters can’t be wrong), to side-step and ignore the Constitution has completely changed my opinion.

This doesn’t mean that I will ever call myself a Republican or that I admire everything the Reagan administration did. They used slight of hand just as effectively as Obama, Pelosi, and Reid do today. After all who can forget Iran-Contra or the huge deficit Reagan left upon leaving office?

That having been said, how can one listen to these videos and not acknowledge Reagan was right when it came to socialism and the progressives? Think yesterday’s “historic” passage of the Dem’s health care package happened in a vacuum?

Think again. Watch these two videos and think again!

Damn it, Reagan was right!

And so, today we have government mandated health care for every citizen with the threat of 16,500 IRS agents to be hired every month to make sure every citizen purchases health insurance … this in the land of the free and the brave!

Well, well, well … the New York Times is discovering the importance of the Tea Party Movement, or so it was pronounced this morning on Morning Joe.

Let’s see, what did it take to get the Gray Lady to move her arse? Was it the mass march on Washington this past September? It is estimated that over 1 million people went to Washington to voice their concerns about health care and taxes. No, no, no!

Maybe it was town hall meetings where thousands of angry constituents across the country confronted their elected Washington officials. No, no, no!

Ok then, when Democrat John Corzine lost the governor’s race in New Jersey to a Republican challenger, or when Virginia also elected a Republican governor. That had an impact didn’t it? Nope, that didn’t do it either.

Well boys ‘n girls we all know how the world changed on Tuesday with the election of Republican Scott Brown to the Senate seat that Teddy Kennedy held for 40 years. This finally caught the Times attention.

Don’t expect fair coverage, this is after all, a bastion of progressive insanity and foolishness … an Obama stink tank. I wouldn’t hold my breathe wondering if the pejorative “teabagger” finds it’s way into article either. Betcha $50 bucks it does!

So look for an analysis that bears little resemblance to the truth … look for something shallow and superficial … looks for a hit job!

I’ve been watching the Coakley/Brown race for Teddy Kennedy’s the People’s Senate seat in Massachusetts with amusement and fascination.

The last few days have shown the world that there is no gutter the desperate Dems won’t get into, no evil or despicable act they will pass on, no lie too big for the Dems and team Obama. Character assassination? No problemo! So what if Brown didn’t really vote to prevent women from getting rape kits! The pictures looked good didn’t they? Besides isn’t this the same foolproof BS that got the Constitutionally ineligible fraud elected President?

Ya, well I guess you really can fool some of the people all the time, but not this time Sparky! The people are feed up with back room deals, all the overspending and under-performing. They are tired of the excuses, the phony rhetoric, the bailouts, the 37 Czars, the lack of transparency, and being taken for granted.

CNN is reporting that the White House is predicting a Coakley loss.

Oh, boo hoo! But even better is this, Hot Air is reporting that when the Big O arrived at his venue to speak barely 1,500 people were there … not counting the hecklers … yes, I said hecklers!

Regardless of the motivation, the result speaks for itself. While Scott Brown drew at least 3,000 for his big rally this afternoon, Obama struggled to fill his venue:

But Obama and a parade of Democrats who appeared on stage before a crowd a local fire official put at 1,100 at Northeastern University’s modest gymnasium spent much of their time trying to explain to the audience, and to themselves, how they had lost their grip on the public “anger” – a word that has replaced “hope” as the emotion Democrats seek to channel.

He couldn’t fill a hall for Deval Patrick in October, either. If Coakley was looking for a game-changer, she’s going to be disappointed.

Update: The Boston Globe puts Obama’s rally at 1500 and Brown’s at 2200 (in the main room), but makes the point that the President got overshadowed by the state Senator!

**And if you think things can’t get worse, you’d be wrong. Teddy Kennedy’s home town paper, the Cape Cod Times has just endorsed Scott Brown.**

In his last re-election to the state Senate in 2008, Brown won by a 59-41 percent margin. Part of his success comes from his willingness to work with Democrats on important issues.

“I would not have been overwhelmingly re-elected if I didn’t know how to work across party lines,” Brown said in the primary. “If the Democrats have a good idea, I’d be happy to vote with them.”

Brown is exactly what Washington needs — someone who will vote his conscience rather than spew party rhetoric.

The notion of change as an important ingredient here cannot be underestimated, not because the Democrats are necessarily on the wrong path, but because good government is enhanced by two viable parties.

In the special Senate election on Tuesday, we recommend Scott Brown.

If you have been following the special election race in Massachusetts you are aware of the Martha (of course that Senate seat is mine) Coakley and Scott (no, it’s the people’s seat) Brown battle that is going on.

Ole Martha baby was supposed to be a shoe-in to take over Teddy Kennedy’s Senate seat, she would be the 60th vote to help pass that monstrosity of a pork laden bill, masquerading as healthcare reform. Obama and the Dimocrats would have their “victory” and Hallelujah all would be right in the world of liberal/progressive droids masquerading as legislators in the Congress of these United States.

Well, the funny thing is, no one told Scott Brown that, nor were the citizens of Massachusetts consulted. See, it was a foregone conclusion, in the same manner as Caroline Kennedy’s assumptive notion that she should get the Senate seat in New York when Hillary left.

I first became aware of Brown when Texas Darlin came out of retirement and her blog went live again. (Here’s were a real Hallelujah is in order!) One need listen to Brown for a few moments to know he is the real deal as witnessed in the recent Brown/Coakley debate. They are nearly tied in the race and some people think Brown will whip Coakley. There’s a lot at stake here for the Obama White House, Pelosi, and Reid!

Why should citizen journalists be heading to Massachusetts? Two reasons.

Because as Michelle Malkin and others are reporting, the thugs and thugettes from SEIU are being marshalled to go to Massachusetts to help in the election. You remember SEIU don’t you … the ones that roughed up that black conservative in August of ’09 simply for passing flags out!
If you think the Obama/Holder “Justice” Department will do anything if the SEIU thugs pull a Black Panthers move on election day, I’ve got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. Apparently voter intimidation is OK if you are black and not so much if you’re white or don’t hold the beliefs of the Obamobots! Holder let them off … shameful! But at least you know who the enemy is!

Now, on top of all the manpower that the Big Labor army of Purple Shirts has lent her, plus the group’s primary endorsement, and the $214,000 they sent her for radio ad buys last fall, the SEIU is preparing to burn through another $685,000 in rank-and-file union members’ dues for the attorney general.

How ’bout sadness, pain, or joy … do these have a color? Wait, maybe pride has a color. I am so sick and tired of the forces that seek to divide us as a country, that want to weaken the very fabric of our nation that makes us strong.

I am tired of the games being played by our bogus President and the bogus bunch of buffoons masquerading as politicians that sit in Congress passing laws that they exempt themselves from. Yes, a sub-par health reform package for the plebs with a real health care package reserved for themselves and their families.

Remember that famous line in When Harry met Sally … “I’ll have what she’s having?” Yes, I want access to the very same health care package that the members of Congress have … no more, no less! If it’s good enough for Pelosi it’s good enough for me.

I’m tired of the race card and all the “isms” that go along with it … you know racism, conservatism, etc. I’m tired of all the descriptors that come before American … Hispanic, African, Conservative, Christian, Jewish … the list is endless … fill in the blank.

How ’bout this? How ’bout, from now on we stop putting anything ahead of American first! From now on we are Americans who happen to be African, or Irish, French, Polish, Armenian, we are people of color … or not. We are brave, courageous and contrary to what Bill Maher thinks we are not stupid! One sip of the Kool-Aid and we knew it was poison.

How ’bout we start defending ourselves against those who seek to divide us for political gain … those who know that by dividing and demoralizing us they can defeat us.

There are no “isms” at the end of freedom or democracy or brotherhood … not the way I spell them!

We should never forget that everything Adolf Hitler did in Germany was “legal” and everything the Hungarian freedom fighters did in Hungary was “illegal.” (Martin Luther King, Jr., “Letter from Birmingham Jail,” Why We Can’t Wait, 1963)

In an essay on civil disobedience, written in 1849 under the title “Resistance to Civil Government”, Henry David Thoreau wrote:

“There will never be a really free and enlightened State until the State comes to recognize the individual as a higher and independent power, from which all its own power and authority are derived, and treats him accordingly.”

I don’t know what form an action of civil disobedience should take; in other countries people just literally pour out into the streets wherever they are and shut down their town. That’s one scenario. Another possible action is to have something going on in DC like surrounding the Capitol Building and not letting the Lords and Ladies go home for their cocktails.

September is the crucial month because that is when they (the Lords and Ladies) plan on forcing this crap down our throats. So, now is the time to start thinking about it; I’d like to hear your suggestions. If you have a blog, please consider doing some brainstorming on this topic; I’d like to get a discussion going all over the internet.

Let me say up front, I don’t know if we are at this point or not, but the question is a good one … one in need of a considerable amount of deliberative thought.

Just an after thought.

Maybe one of the reasons some of our Congressional members are not anxious to face voters in their districts this fall is because they can tell the difference between real and manufactued anger and protests.

They wouldn’t be fearful if they were doing their jobs … say like reading the bills they are voting on first … right? Just a thought!

Just when you think the Obama campaign can’t get any dirtier, it does.

This is breaking this morning. David Axelrod, Obama’s Rove hired a PR company to produce videos for YOUTUBE from so called “grassroots” groups. Everything about the so called grassroots campaign was phony including the comments. The video went up and was rapidly taken down when it was discovered by savvy white knights (my words) tracking the Obama campaign’s every move.

Obama Connected PR Firm Uploads, Publicizes Lying Anti-Palin Ad on YouTube, Then Pushes it Virally as “Grassroots” Effort; PR Exec Sockpuppets Praise Video for “Getting the Truth Out;” Company Employee Uploads it to Obama Smear Clearinghouse Daily Kos and Urges Readers to Send it Out to Ten People Each.

Our research suggests that a subdivision of one of the largest public relations firms in the world most likely started and promulgated rumors about Sarah Palin that were known to be false. These rumors were spread in a surreptitious manner to avoid exposure.

It is also likely that the PR firm was paid by outside sources to run the smear campaign. While not conclusive, evidence suggests a link to the Barack Obama campaign. Namely:

Evidence suggests that a YouTube video with false claims about Palin was uploaded and promoted by members of a professional PR firm.

The family that runs the PR firm has extensive ties to the Democratic Party, the netroots, and are staunch Obama supporters.

Evidence suggests that the firm engaged in a concerted effort to distribute the video in such a way that it would appear to have gone viral on its own. Yet this effort took place on company time.

Evidence suggests that these distribution efforts included actions by at least one employee of the firm who is unconnected with the family running the company.

The voice-over artist used in this supposedly amateur video is a professional.

This same voice-over artist has worked extensively with David Axelrod’s firm, which has a history of engaging in phony grassroots efforts, otherwise known as “astroturfing.”

[UPDATE: Within 1 hour of posting, "eswinner" has removed all videos from YouTube and began removing any traces of his activities. But we have the video and all relevant websites backed up. (emphasis mine)

If "eswinner" isn't Ethan Winner of the Publicis Groupe, then why did "eswinner" yank the video so quickly? Or if this was just an innocent homemade ad, then what does he have to hide? You'd think he'd want more attention for it.

Well, at least he’s consistent. Now, he’s all too predictable, as well. It has become apparent, that the old joke how do you know when “fill in the blank” is lying . . . just watch his lips move fits Barack perfectly.

First, Obama’s for public financing of campaigns and now he’s against it. The excuse his campaign is using is the “opt out” is because the “system is broken and because the Republicans are such masters of the 527’s.” What’s a boy to do? Break a promise made on 6 different occasions.

We all know what the truth is as Obama brings his “situation ethics” to new heights of hypocrisy. When he made this promise, he didn’t know how successful his campaign would be raising money on the Internet. Living up to his promise to use public financing would mean he and McCain would be fighting on an even playing field. My God, they might even have to discuss (hold your breathe, now) issues! The Campaign of Change would be delivering on a promise. Right, where’s that bridge that was for sale?

Rhetoric question of the day; how many times does Obama lie to the country before the Kool-Aid kids and the MSM say enough! Listening to Olbermann this evening it’s going to be a loooog time! MSNBC, CNN, the New York Times will all give BO a pass on reversing his campaign promise to utilize public financing for the upcoming general election.

Ironically, if any other politician had reversed him or herself like this, there would be an outpouring of indignation questioning the honesty and integrity of the person making this kind of reversal. Does anyone really believe that the MSM would treat Hillary the same way?

Let’s not forget how the press treated George Bush 41 when he said, “Read my lips, no new taxes!” Years later, Bush’s decision to increase taxes despite his promise is brought up repeatedly as an example of why politicians shouldn’t make promise they can’t keep. Will the Annointed One, our selected nominee, receive the same treatment? Of course not, we can’t interfere with media narrative, can we?

Herman Cain crushed the so-called first tier candidates Mitt Romney (aka mittens) and Rick Perry in yesterday’s Florida straw poll. Cain’s win is important enough to bring international interest, with the International Business Times calling it a new race.

Surprise, surprise. surprise, (not!) the Sunday talk shows are chattering about Cain defeating Romney and Perry in the Florida straw poll.

What is left unsaid is that the real surprise to them is that the voters are not following the MSM & GOP elites narrative on who is likely to run against the fraud Obama.

Even worse than Obama’s fraudulent presidency (Born a Brit, not Legit) has been his clear inability to perform the tasks at hand. BHO likes the pomp and circumstance. but the work needed to truly be the POTUS. God, he is such a waste, such an empty suit!

Unlike Romney (picked by Rove) and Perry (said to be NWO), Cain is not a bought man, and that boys ‘n girls is like a breath of fresh air. Unlike Obama, Cain thankfully is not a Progressive!
