Months ago, I asked how the Catholic Kennedys could support BHO given his position on abortion.  I never understood why Caroline & Ted Kennedy were such open and ardent supporters of Obama’s presidency.  They are visible members of one of America’s most Catholic families.  One would think that Obama’s statement that he didn’t want either of his daughters “punished” with a baby if they made a mistake would have been enough to give them pause.

Apparently Caroline Kennedy’s support of Barack has come at a price.  My question is how tone deaf can Obama and Caroline both be?  Obama supports partial birth abortion and it is now being reported that Caroline supports abortion as well.  Is anyone surprised that the Vatican nixed the appointment?

Vatican blocks Caroline Kennedy appointment as US ambassador

The Vatican has blocked the appointment of Caroline Kennedy as US ambassador, according to reports.

Vatican sources told Il Giornale that their support for abortion disqualified Ms Kennedy and other Roman Catholics President Barack Obama had been seeking to appoint.

Mr Obama was reportedly seeking to reward John F Kennedy’s daughter, who publicly gave her support to his election bid. She had been poised to replace Hillary Clinton as New York senator, but dropped out amid criticism that she lacked enough experience for the job.

The Italian paper said that the Vatican strongly disapproved of Mr Obama’s support for abortion and stem cell research. The impasse over the ambassadorial appointment threatens to cloud his meeting with the Pope during a G8 summit in Italy in July.

Ms Kennedy, 53, has said that she supports abortion. Raymond Flynn, a former US ambassador to the Vatican, said earlier this week that Ms Kennedy would be a poor choice.

Hey Caroline, you know the old joke . . . “What do you call a Catholic that picks and chooses what they want to believe?   . . .   a Protestant.” Sorry, ’bout the joke, but how ( in your wildest dreams) did you think the Vatican could possibly welcome your ambassadorship?  Your  public position  supports abortion (OK, call it pro-choice if you want to) and  is in direct opposition to a basic tenant of the Catholic Church which supports all life.   I mean really, when are you going to stop drinking that Kool-Aid?

First it was your ill fated attempt at taking  Hillary Clinton’s Senate seat and now this.  I’d think long and hard before before making another public mis-step. Your public persona is tarnished enough.  I loved your father and your brother . . . admired your mother greatly . . .  I’m wondering, ” What can you be possibly be thinking?”  Like I said,  you should think long and hard before you make another mis-step.
